Flirting requires skill, practice, and confidence. Of course, it also takes a bit of common sense. When you’re around your crush, it might be hard to think straight, but that’s no excuse for trying out ridiculous flirting moves. Stick to the basics and you’re sure to be successful. In going back and forth on the best ways to flirt, do yourself and the object of your desires a favor, and make sure that you avoid these horrible techniques, no matter how cute you look:

1. Stalking

 

If your crush has any social media accounts, it’s super easy to find out everything there is to know about him. His Facebook will tell you what bands he likes and where he works, his Instagram will show you what food he’s been eating and what girls he hangs out with, and his Tumblr will show you the shows he likes and jokes he finds funny. As eager as you are to find out everything about your crush, you should learn it from his mouth, not from his social media counts. It’s not flirty to know his entire life story. It’s creepy.

2. Asking a Friend

Your crush might love shy girls. He could find your sheepishness endearing, so even if you’re fidgeting and blushing when you start a conversation, you shouldn’t be embarrassed. However, if you try to take the easy way out by making your friend run over and tell him that you like him, he’ll think you’re immature. You have the ability to approach him on your own, so don’t give the job to a friend.

3. Admiring from Afar
