Adamu attends CAF Assembly meeting

Amos Adamu
Former FIFA Executive Committee member, Dr. Amos Adamu, was part of the proceedings of the Confederation of African Football General Assembly on Tuesday in Cairo, to elect the continent’s two representatives on the FIFA Executive Committee and the six members on the CAF Executive Committee.
Adamu was invited as a special guest by CAF to its 37th Ordinary General Assembly at the Aida Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel, Cairo.
The invitation letter of the former Director-General of the National Sports Commission was signed by CAF General Secretary, Hicham El Amrani, who said it was in line with the belief that Adamu’s wealth of experience as a former FIFA and CAF Executive Committee member could not be ignored.
President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick and NFF Secretary General, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed, were the other Nigerians in attendance.
Adamu, a former West African Football Union president, will be part of Wednesday’s (today) meeting of the committee, which would be followed by the naming of the host country for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations finals, and the draws for the competition’s qualifiers.
Adamu reportedly entered into private discussions with CAF president, Issa Hayatou and FIFA boss, Sepp Blatter, after the meeting
