Delta State Football Association chairman
and former Super Eagles captain, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, will on
Wednesday (today) lead other officials of the FA on a roadshow round
major streets in Warri to sensitise the fans ahead of the FA Cup final
holding on Thursday at the Warri City Stadium.
The 16th edition state FA Cup final will
feature God’s Time FC and J. Atete FC, while the third-place match will
be between Warri Wolves and Bobbies United.
Secretary of Delta FA, Friday Onothoja,
said on Tuesday that Okocha, who is passionate about the FA Cup final,
his first major assignment in office, would embark on the road show to
give the sponsor, Ecobank, the goodwill it deserves. Ecobank has been
sponsoring the competition for the past 15 years.
Okocha presented Ecobank branded jerseys to the four teams on Tuesday at the Warri City Stadium.
Onothoja said the final would be entertaining as the finalists boast large supporters based in Warri.
Delta State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan
will be the special guest of honour at the games, and is expected to
lead other top government officials as well as management and staff of
the sponsor, Ecobank.
