The new deal Nigeria Football
Federation, NFF, is planning for out-of-contract Chief Coach of the Super
Eagles, Stephen Keshi is causing ripples among some members of the body’s
technical committee and the NFF’s executive committee.
Some members of the NFF’s technical
committee have admitted that they do not know what is going on as they have not
been briefed or invited for meetings.
Speaking to www.footballlive.ng, member of the group, Paul
Bassey admitted that he remains in the dark as regards Keshi’s deal.
“I have decided not to talk about it
anymore with the media or anybody. But the way it works is that the technical
puts a contract together and forward it to the executive committee.
“He responds whether he wants it or
not, so the thing is there and it has been done. If he wants to negotiate, the
board then appoints members to negotiate terms. But like I said I don’t know
anything about it and I can’t speak about the issue,” the CAF and FIFA match
commissioner explained.
In the same vein, ex-international
and another member of the technical committee, Mutiu Adepoju says he remains
unaware of their proceedings as he does hear anything or get invited for
meetings.
“I’m not aware of any technical
committee meeting, I’ve never been invited for any meeting and I don’t know
what’s happening with the issue of Keshi’s job,” he said.
So, I’m sorry I can’t give any
information or share any opinion on the matter.”
